These five key topics are practical areas in which we can interact with nature and nature's Creator.  By working with nature and integrating it into our lives, we can enjoy the blessings that our Creator intended for us to receive from the earth.  There is much to be learned from nature; much about the infinite intelligence and creativity of our Creator, about His character, about ourselves, and about wisdom to live by.  God through nature has given us abundant resources that often we don't even know about.  Wilderness Scouts are those who realize what a wonderful earth God has given them and learn to integrate it into their lives.
Remembering Our Creator as We Explore His Creation
Wilderness Scouts
1. Adventuring Outdoors.
God’s creation is simply awesome! Have you ever wandered in the woods and sensed how majestic God is and what a privilege it is to be a part of what He created? Its amazing to study what He has made-whether by studying plant and animal kinds, His designs in outer space, biological systems that work beautifully to sustain life, or other wonderful things. The most wonderful thing to do in nature is what Jesus our Creator did when He was on earth, go into the wilderness to pray to God the Father. Communion with God is extra special as you muse on the works of His hands.
The outdoors are a wonderful opportunity for many other activities like camping, hiking, horseback riding, tubing, canoeing, zip-lining, and numerous other fun things.  The Wilderness Scouts have gone on some trips like these, and we are looking forward to doing more.  We also learn, for example, about wilderness survival, wild edible plants, knots, and, cooking over a fire.
2. Homesteading.
As we are growing up as young ladies, we are learning skills that will enable us to take care of our future families.  Knowing how to do things ourselves can improve our family's lives, save money, and make money, besides being fun. These skills like cooking, baking, sewing, paper making, gardening, and other crafts are the kind of thing that the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31 was doing.  She is a model for us as homesteading Wilderness Scouts.
Another thing to consider is that, in the system of our day, there is a tendency for people to specialize in one area, work doing the exact same thing day after day, and trust their money through the system to supply all their needs. But how do we know that the system will always work the way we are used to it working? For instance, just looking at the economical implications of our country being trillions of dollars in debt, it is quite possible that our economy and country might not continue in the way we are comfortable with.  Its important to learn how to do things for ourselves, such as growing food, raising animals, making our own electricity, and knowing how to collect our own clean water. As Wilderness Scouts, we are preparing to use the earth to take care of our future families, whether times be peaceful or rough.
3. Living Naturally in Health.
Our Creator created us to be healthy.  He doesn't want us to be sick.  But when we eat foods that have been so changed from their natural state, we starve our bodies from nutrients and fill them with toxins and junk that clogs our systems.  The concept that we reap what we sow definitely applies to health.  We as Wilderness Scouts believe that God created many natural foods and herbs to assist and enable our body to keep itself healthy and even heal itself. If we eat the natural foods God intended for our nourishment, we can live in health the way God intended. We therefore study things like nutrition, the bad effects of GMO and food additives, herbal tinctures, and preparation of wholesome meals. In this way we can prepare to feed our future families to keep them naturally healthy.

4. Being disciples of our Creator Jesus Christ.
The most wonderful part of life is fellowship with our Creator. Because of our sin this would be impossible, but Jesus came down to live on the earth He created and died in our place for our sins.  Now we can live in forgiveness, acceptance, and victory over sin as a part of God's eternal kingdom. This world we live in is often like a wilderness that we must travel through and it can be hard to know our purpose and direction and how to live.  That's why God gave us the Bible, as a map to lead us to Him and His kingdom.  We as Wilderness Scouts spend time getting to know our Creator and His absolute truth as we trust in Him and obey His Word.
5. Fellowship
Friendship is such a great blessing, especially with others with similar interests and beliefs.  We will be having meetings every other week plus whatever outings, service projects, and adventures we plan.
We hope that these will be opportunities for girls to meet others and develop good friendships.  We need each other as we travel through the wildernesses of life.
